Requirements
- Managed an engineering team of at least 2 people.
- Extensive experience with Backend development (Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby, or functional programming).
- Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
- Practical experience designing or adopting agentic/automation workflows or comparable systems.
- Ability to think in systems: define specs, break down plans, instrument verification, and iterate on quality.
- Solid knowledge of engineering and development principles and best practices.
- Demonstrates strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Commitment to promoting Remote's values and fostering diversity, equality, and inclusion.
- Fluent in English for professional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers (backend and frontend).
- Participate actively in product development alongside management responsibilities (30% management / 70% development).
- Lead hiring and onboarding processes for new engineering team members.
- Provide continuous feedback, coaching, and career development support to direct reports.
- Redesign engineering shipping processes using autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
- Propose and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows.
- Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives for consistent cross-domain application.
- Implement verification loops and tests to ensure code security, reliability, and scalability.
