Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in site design and/or energy modeling for utility-scale solar PV or BESS projects.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil3D for site layout, grading, and construction documentation.
- Proficiency in PVSyst for solar energy modeling including bifacial and shading analysis.
- Experience with BESS modeling platforms (e.g., HOMER, Energy Toolbase, or equivalent).
- Strong competency in analytical problem solving and quantitative energy forecasting.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Procore or SiteTracker.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Develop in-house site layouts, PV and BESS energy models, performance calculations, and single line diagrams.
- Lead design of ground-mounted solar PV projects including array configuration, grading, and tracker geometry.
- Produce high-quality engineering plans, site layout drawings, and construction details using AutoCAD/Civil3D.
- Review due diligence reports, environmental surveys, and geotechnical studies to assess layout impacts.
- Support EPC RFP processes by providing site design deliverables and energy forecast documentation.
- Coordinate and review work for third-party engineering consultants across multiple design disciplines.
- Maintain BESS models for dispatch strategy and revenue optimization.
- Perform QA/QC on PVSyst simulations including shading, soiling, and energy yield estimates.
