Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in international development, strategy, or private sector engagement.
- Demonstrated experience working with public-private partnerships and/or blended finance models.
- Strong understanding of Global Affairs Canada (GAC) programming and funding mechanisms.
- Specific experience in the WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) sector.
- Experience in climate resilience, infrastructure, ESG, or international trade-related sectors.
- Proven strategic planning and facilitation experience.
- Strong analytical, stakeholder engagement, and report-writing skills.
- Experience working with Canadian private sector stakeholders is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Conduct a situational analysis of WaterAid Canada’s strategic positioning and GAC funding mechanisms.
- Identify and rank priority private sectors for engagement including extractives, agri-food, infrastructure, and clean technology.
- Develop practical partnership models such as consortiums, private sector-led initiatives, and blended finance approaches.
- Define a compelling 'Investing in WASH' narrative for both private sector and GAC audiences.
- Recommend an internal operational model, governance, and staffing structure for managing partnerships.
- Create a phased implementation roadmap, risk registry, and success metrics.
