About Rerun
Rerun is pioneering the data stack for Physical AI, building open-source visualization infrastructure and a commercial platform that powers the next generation of intelligent systems. You will contribute to tools that help computer vision and robotics developers visualize, query, and stream multimodal data. This includes complex 2D and 3D scenes, video streams, tensors, and time series data. Your work helps teams developing autonomous vehicles, spatial computing, and embodied AI to debug and understand their systems. Our open-source project is already embraced by leaders like Meta, Google, and Hugging Face's LeRobot.
How We Work
Rerun operates as a remote-first company, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. Our distributed team spans across Europe and the US, fostering a collaborative environment. We prioritize focused work with synchronous hours between 1:30–5:00pm CET to ensure effective team communication. To strengthen our bonds and align on strategy, we meet in person for one week approximately once a quarter. We value agency and helpfulness, expecting every team member to take broad responsibility for their contributions. We encourage engineers who are energized by iteration and enjoy transforming ideas into robust systems.
Engineering at Rerun
You will tackle unique engineering challenges in building a multimodal data stack for physical AI. We develop cloud-native analytical database systems optimized for high-throughput, often time-series, data. Our core systems are crafted in Rust, leveraging Apache Arrow extensively for performance. This stack supports specialized queries for robotics-style multimodal logs, handling very sparse and wide tables. You will implement domain-specific operators, such as those related to 3D transforms. We focus on designing highly scalable, reliable, and observable data-intensive systems, from query planning to push-down filtering and query optimization. You will work across Python, Rust, and gRPC layers, enhancing performance and integrations across our SDKs.
