Requirements
- Proficiency with remote sensing platforms (satellites, drones) and sensor technologies (optical, radar, LiDAR, multispectral).
- Hands-on experience with GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS, ENVI, ERDAS Imagine) for data processing and analysis.
- Familiarity with open-access and commercial satellite imagery providers.
- Proficiency in machine learning techniques for geospatial analysis (classification, extraction, modeling).
- Experience with drone data workflows including flight planning and photogrammetry.
- Degree in a relevant field.
- Strong project management and report writing skills.
- Adaptability and willingness to travel internationally to challenging environments.
- Knowledge of international standards for humanitarian mine action (advantageous).
Responsibilities
- Develop practical, innovative methodologies and tools for operational efficiency and decision-making.
- Lead research and development processes for Earth Observation (EO) data usage.
- Manage drone-based solutions for Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) and Weapon and Ammunition Management (WAM).
- Translate complex geospatial data into actionable operational insights.
- Build meaningful partnerships to enhance organization practice.
- Lead remote sensing projects and develop standard operating procedures.
- Integrate environmental considerations into operational planning.
