Requirements

  • Proven sales experience, preferably in public works departments.
  • Track record of success, business growth, and exceeding sales quotas.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience with GovTech or SaaS selling into local county governments.
  • Understanding of local government workflow and practices.
  • Hunter sales mentality with tenacity and confidence.
  • Experience in negotiating and closing contracts.
  • Tech savviness and strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel on a regular basis for tradeshows and conferences.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Own territory and work with sales support & marketing to develop new clients.
  • Create and execute plans to identify opportunities and secure new business.
  • Establish key relationships and act as a thought leader.
  • Diagnose client problems, suggest solutions, negotiate, and close deals.
  • Position the company as an industry expert.
  • Coordinate the proposal process with internal stakeholders.
  • Use Salesforce and Salesloft to manage contacts, leads, and the pipeline.
  • Work with existing clients to ensure deployment and usage.
  • Respond to technical client questions in coordination with Support staff.
