Requirements

  • 2+ years of payroll and benefits experience
  • Experience with hourly and non-exempt employee populations
  • Hands-on experience with California wage and hour laws
  • Experience processing Canadian payroll including CPP, EI, and provincial tax
  • Experience with UK payroll operations including PAYE, National Insurance, and HMRC
  • Familiarity with payroll and HRIS systems like Workday or ADP
  • Understanding of multi-country benefits administration
  • Strong attention to detail and reconciliation skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Payroll certification (FPC, CPP) considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Process and maintain accurate payroll data across the US, Canada, and the UK.
  • Prepare and validate weekly and semi-monthly payroll cycles.
  • Perform payroll audits, reconciliations, and journal entry reviews.
  • Manage year-end reporting and filings including W-2s, T4s, and P60s.
  • Ensure compliance with regional regulations including California wage and hour laws, Canadian federal/provincial requirements, and UK PAYE/NI.
  • Administer employee benefits programs including health, retirement, and statutory leave.
  • Reconcile benefits deductions and vendor invoices.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee payroll and benefits inquiries.
  • Support onboarding and payroll setup for acquired employees.
  • Maintain and improve payroll and benefits SOPs.
