Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of B2B sales or business development experience in venture debt, startup banking, or growth lending.
  • Working familiarity with the U.S. startup and venture ecosystem.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting financial statements.
  • Working knowledge of core debt concepts (cost of capital, debt service, repayment structures).
  • Clear, credible written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Salesforce preferred.
  • Hunter mentality with high ownership.
  • Ability to manage multiple deals independently.

Responsibilities

  • Own a portfolio of active opportunities from qualification through close.
  • Run discovery, term proposal, and closing meetings with founder CEOs and CFOs.
  • Coordinate with underwriting and credit on deal structuring and diligence.
  • Maintain a clean pipeline in Salesforce.
  • Generate net-new pipeline through proactive outbound to founders and CFOs.
  • Partner with BDR team to convert meetings into qualified pipeline.
  • Attend tech conferences and industry events to source new pipeline.
  • Review prospect financials to assess fit.
  • Conduct pre-qualification analysis using underwriting criteria.
  • Synthesize deal feedback into insights for marketing and leadership.
