Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law in the United States
- 8+ years of experience in employee benefits law
- Strong focus on regulatory and compliance matters
- Deep knowledge of health and welfare benefit regulations (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, MHPAEA)
- Ability to interpret complex legal language and translate into actionable guidance
- Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
- Experience working in fast-paced environments
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-starter mindset with strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder management abilities
Responsibilities
- Interpret and analyze complex federal regulations governing health and welfare benefit plans
- Support the development and execution of regulatory and legislative strategy
- Monitor and assess new and emerging laws and regulations
- Respond to daily inquiries from internal teams regarding compliance matters
- Contribute to the creation of compliance tools, thought leadership content, guides, and client-facing educational materials
- Deliver presentations and training sessions on employee benefits compliance topics
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including actuarial, pharmacy, wellness, operations, marketing, and communications
- Support and evaluate third-party vendor partnerships
- Assist in managing shared resources and knowledge distribution
