Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Business, Environmental Science, Social Sciences, International Development, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience, including at least 10 years in senior cross-functional leadership, strategy, or operational roles.
  • Proven experience in a Chief of Staff, Deputy Director, or equivalent integrative leadership role in complex, multi-regional organizations.
  • Strong background working across international contexts, ideally across the Americas, Africa, and/or Asia within NGOs or sustainability-focused environments.
  • Experience connecting program strategy with funding and donor engagement cycles in resource-driven environments.
  • Strong systems thinking, strategic synthesis, and ability to manage complexity across diverse stakeholders.
  • Key strengths in transformational leadership, collaboration, political acumen, adaptability, and relationship-building across cultures.
  • Familiarity with sustainable development issues and commitment to environmental and social impact objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the Chief Growth and Impact Officer to define priorities, develop strategic plans, and ensure execution against organizational goals.
  • Act as Chief of Staff by coordinating cross-functional initiatives, identifying risks and bottlenecks, and proactively recommending solutions.
  • Drive alignment across global and regional teams, ensuring consistent execution and breaking down silos between departments.
  • Translate strategic direction into actionable workplans, governance structures, and accountability frameworks across geographies.
  • Lead integration between programmatic and development functions, ensuring funding strategies align with program priorities.
  • Support donor engagement efforts by preparing briefings, strategic messaging, and funding narratives.
  • Oversee elements of organizational leadership including mentoring, supervision, and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
