Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Animal Science, Food Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of commercial experience within pet food, animal nutrition, rendering, or food ingredients industries.
  • At least 3 years of sales leadership and people management experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering sustained sales growth and managing strategic relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of the pet food industry market dynamics and trends.
  • Expertise in contract negotiation and pricing strategy development.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a results-oriented approach.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout North America, up to 75% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Lead sales and gross margin performance across North America, ensuring achievement of revenue, profitability, and new business growth objectives.
  • Develop and execute regional commercial strategies aligned with broader organizational goals.
  • Strengthen customer relationships through consultative selling and strategic account management.
  • Manage contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and commercial agreements.
  • Monitor market trends and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Sales Managers and Technical Sales Managers.
  • Build organizational capabilities in commercial excellence and account planning.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, R&D, technical services, and operations teams.
  • Manage distributor relationships and support strategic account initiatives.
  • Establish performance metrics and oversee regional sales budgets.
