Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in employment law, workplace investigations, employee relations, or a related practice area.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and workplace investigation practices.
- Experience conducting or supporting workplace investigations, including employee relations, fraud, and workplace violence matters.
- Proven ability to independently manage investigations and advise clients on employment-related risks and compliance issues.
- Familiarity with HIPAA and privacy-related compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, interviewing, legal writing, technology, and problem-solving skills.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
Responsibilities
- Conducting and managing workplace investigations involving employee relations concerns, allegations of misconduct, fraud, workplace violence, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other employment-related matters.
- Independently leading investigations from intake through resolution, including witness interviews, evidence review, fact-finding, and report preparation.
- Providing legal guidance on employment law, workplace compliance, and employee relations matters.
- Collaborating with client stakeholders, Human Resources teams, compliance professionals, and business leaders to address workplace concerns and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Drafting investigation plans, witness interview summaries, investigation reports, findings, and other related documentation.
- Advising clients on compliance with applicable employment laws, workplace policies, and HIPAA requirements where relevant.
- Managing sensitive and confidential legal issues for clients across multiple industries.
- Staying ahead of employment law developments, workplace investigation best practices, and regulatory changes to provide proactive counsel.
