Requirements

  • J.D. or equivalent law degree and active bar membership in good standing
  • 10+ years of relevant employment law experience, ideally combining top-tier law firm and in-house experience
  • Deep practical knowledge of employment law across multiple jurisdictions, including experience managing cross-border issues
  • Significant experience advising on workforce classification, contingent workforce models, independent contractor issues, and related litigation, investigations, or regulatory enforcement
  • Strong experience handling employment litigation, agency matters, internal investigations, and escalated workplace issues
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously, prioritize effectively, and manage a high-volume, high-complexity workload
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate legal risk into practical business guidance
  • Strong business judgment and a solutions-oriented approach
  • Experience supporting a high-growth, global technology company is strongly preferred
  • Experience building scalable employment law processes and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders at senior levels is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior legal partner for HR, People, and business leaders on a wide range of day-to-day employment law matters across multiple jurisdictions
  • Advise on complex employment issues, including employee relations, performance management, terminations, investigations, accommodations, leaves, works council matters, workforce classification, TUPE-related issues, reorganizations, and other sensitive workplace matters
  • Lead employment-related disputes, litigation, agency charges, audits, inspections, and regulatory matters, including management of outside counsel
  • Partner cross-functionally on the design, implementation, and ongoing assessment of workforce structures, operational practices, and contracts.
  • Draft, review, and localize employment agreements, handbooks, separation agreements, policies, and other employment-related documents
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on compensation and benefits programs, pay equity and pay transparency initiatives, including EU Pay Transparency Directive compliance and readiness, business restructurings, market expansion, and other strategic initiatives with employment law implications
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments and proactively advise the business on changes that may affect company practices across jurisdictions
  • Develop and implement scalable policies, playbooks, and processes that improve consistency, reduce risk, and support efficient growth
