Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Science, Safety Engineering, Safety Management, Risk Management or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive safety leadership experience in multi-site distribution, fulfillment, manufacturing, or logistics.
  • Experience building and leading safety management systems across geographically dispersed operations.
  • Experience leading serious incident investigations involving significant injury potential.
  • Experience supporting highly automated distribution, robotics, or advanced material handling environments.
  • Strong understanding of risk management methodologies, human factors, ergonomics, and machine safety.
  • Experience managing dangerous goods, food safety, and regulated products.
  • Knowledge of DOT compliance and environmental compliance (stormwater, spill prevention, waste disposal).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with comfort interfacing with site leaders.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee safety strategy and risk governance across multiple fulfillment centers with varying operational profiles.
  • Develop and execute regional safety strategies utilizing leading and lagging indicators and risk assessments.
  • Evaluate safety impacts of new technologies, automation systems, robotics deployments, and facility expansions.
  • Own regional risk assessments and establish site-specific controls for regulated inventory categories.
  • Lead serious incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action programs.
  • Develop and assist in rollout strategies for effective safety, health, environmental, and regulatory training.
  • Provide strategic guidance to Operations leadership on safe scaling of business operations.
  • Serve as the regional subject matter expert for robotics safety, machine guarding, and automation risks.
