Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in estimating within underground utilities, civil construction, or related infrastructure sectors.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale construction bids (typically $500K+ projects) for U.S.-based clients.
  • Strong proficiency in Bluebeam and PlanSwift for quantity takeoffs and drawing analysis.
  • Excellent ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings, utility plans, specifications, and construction documents.
  • End-to-end experience in the bid process, including estimating, pricing coordination, submission, and post-award workflows.
  • Experience interacting directly with clients, contractors, and stakeholders during bidding and preconstruction phases.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to support sales-oriented conversations and client engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Prior experience working remotely with U.S.-based contractors is highly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with underground utilities, including power and communications infrastructure, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam and PlanSwift, interpreting civil and utility drawings with a high level of accuracy.
  • Review construction plans, specifications, and bid documents to identify missing information, risks, and scope clarifications prior to submission.
  • Manage the full bid lifecycle, including solicitation, pricing coordination, subcontractor and supplier engagement, and final proposal delivery.
  • Serve as the primary estimating contact for clients, communicating directly with home builders and general contractors to clarify scope and support bidding activities.
  • Track and manage active bid opportunities, ensuring timely execution and coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate post-award estimating activities, including subcontractor buyouts, RFIs, submittals, and ongoing scope alignment.
  • Support pricing strategy development by gathering and analyzing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy across all bid documentation and deliverables.
  • Maintain structured communication across stakeholders to support efficient project planning and execution.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and workflows.
