Requirements
- 7+ years of backend engineering experience in Java or Kotlin with Spring Boot.
- At least 2 years in a Tech Lead or senior technical leadership role.
- Strong distributed systems expertise (microservices, event-driven architectures with Kafka/SQS).
- Experience with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and caching (Redis).
- Proven experience building or leading teams for fraud engines, rule engines, or risk scoring systems.
- Understanding of fraud concepts: velocity checks, device fingerprinting, behavioral analytics, and risk tiering.
- Architectural leadership experience defining vision and making design decisions.
- Knowledge of domain-driven design and hexagonal architecture.
- Experience designing low-latency, high-stakes decision systems.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the fraud engineering architecture including real-time decision services and event pipelines.
- Build and mentor the fraud engineering squad through feedback and knowledge sharing.
- Establish coding standards, testing strategies, and observability practices.
- Manage technical debt and ensure balanced delivery.
- Facilitate cross-domain technical alignment with Payments, Digital Assets, and FinCrime teams.
- Author RFCs and lead architecture reviews.
- Build fraud reporting metrics pipelines into Snowflake and QuickSight.
- Own production reliability and lead incident response for fraud-critical services.
