Requirements
- 3–5 years of proven success in sales, territory management, business development, or account management.
- Strong ability to prospect and consistently achieve sales targets.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with ability to build long-term relationships.
- Strong consultative selling skills and business acumen.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a field-based environment.
- Positive attitude and proactive problem-solving approach.
- Postsecondary education in Business or related field preferred.
- Experience in construction, building materials, hardware, or security is an asset.
- Familiarity with distribution networks or wholesale sales is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities with builders, developers, distributors, and other key industry partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with direct and indirect customers.
- Promote a broad portfolio of products and educate customers on new offerings.
- Monitor regional construction activity and market trends to identify sales opportunities.
- Conduct regular customer visits, in-store consultations, and territory reviews.
- Provide recommendations on inventory management and product placement.
- Collaborate with internal teams on marketing initiatives and trade shows.
- Maintain accurate customer records, sales reports, and forecasts.
- Negotiate and manage order follow-ups, shipping, credit, and service requests.
- Monitor competitive activity and provide market intelligence.
