Requirements
- Expertise in building data platforms, not just pipelines.
- Production experience with Iceberg or Delta.
- Fluency in AWS data services (S3, Glue, EMR), Spark, Airflow, Kafka, and IAM.
- Mastery of Python; depth in Go or Java.
- Track record of evolving live, large-scale infrastructure.
- Experience leading platform transitions end-to-end.
- Strong influence and communication skills (design docs, RFCs).
- Experience mentoring and growing other engineers.
Responsibilities
- Build and operate the data platform (infrastructure, abstractions, and SDKs).
- Own the lakehouse and streaming ingestion (Iceberg/Delta on S3, Spark/Glue).
- Design golden paths for data pipelines and dataset publishing.
- Set multi-year technical direction and architecture.
- Evolve and harden existing production platforms.
- Lead design reviews and write design docs/RFCs.
- Participate in rotational on-call pager duty.
