Requirements
- Demonstrated experience building data platforms, not just pipelines.
- Real depth in modern lakehouse technologies such as Iceberg or Delta.
- Strong proficiency in AWS data services (S3, Glue, EMR), Spark, Airflow, and Kafka.
- Mastery of Python in a production data-platform context.
- Credible depth in Go or Java.
- Experience managing IAM boundaries for multi-tenant data access.
- Track record of evolving live, production-grade infrastructure.
- Experience leading major platform transitions or migrations.
- Strong communication skills for design docs, RFCs, and cross-team alignment.
Responsibilities
- Design and build new abstractions for the data platform end-to-end.
- Manage the lakehouse and streaming ingestion pipeline infrastructure.
- Set multi-year technical direction and design architecture.
- Improve system reliability, performance, and developer experience without disruption.
- Collaborate with security, compliance, and consumer teams.
- Participate in a rotational on-call pager duty.
- Mentor and grow other engineers on the team.
