Requirements
- 0–3 years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent.
- Portfolio of projects demonstrating learning velocity.
- Working fluency in Python, TypeScript and/or JavaScript.
- Introductory familiarity with cloud infrastructure or serverless functions (AWS Lambda, GCP Cloud Functions).
- Understanding of production systems behavior under load.
- AI-native workflow proficiency.
- High attention to detail for financial platform accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to the mission of education access and economic mobility.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain features across the Clasp Finance platform including loan origination workflows, school-facing administrative tools, and servicing and collections functionality.
- Write clean, tested Python and TypeScript/JavaScript code with unit tests.
- Contribute to data pipeline work, writing reliable ETL jobs, building observable data flows, and managing data quality issues.
- Use AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude, etc.) to accelerate development.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning.
- Learn and apply consumer lending regulatory context (TILA, ECOA, fair lending, state licensing).
- Write documentation and communicate technical blockers or decisions clearly.
