Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred)
  • 2+ years’ experience in healthcare billing, patient accounts, insurance claims, or revenue cycle management
  • Proficiency with EHR/CRM systems and payment processing platforms
  • Strong Microsoft Office/Google Suite skills
  • Understanding of HIPAA, PCI compliance, and insurance terminology (EOBs, CTP Codes, Diagnosis Codes, Deductibles, Co-Pays)
  • Experience in a telehealth, multi-state, or large outpatient provider environment
  • Familiarity with revenue cycle improvement initiatives or patient financial counseling
  • Bi-Lingual Communication Skills (English/ Spanish) - highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Respond to patient inquiries related to billing, insurance claims, payments, and statements via phone, email, and chat
  • Assist patients in understanding charges, EOBs, coverage, deductibles, co-pays, and payment plans
  • Collect and process patient payments accurately and securely
  • Collaborate with insurance verification and revenue cycle teams to resolve denied or delayed claims
  • Educate patients on financial policies, insurance processes, and available support options
  • Document all interactions in CRM/EHR systems with precision and compliance (HIPAA, PCI, etc.)
  • Identify patterns in billing issues and suggest process improvements to reduce patient friction
