Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, PharmD, or related field) preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in pharmacy benefit management, health plan account management, or related healthcare services.
- At least 3 years of people management or team leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of PBM structures, including pricing models, rebates, formulary design, and contractual guarantees.
- Experience managing employer, TPA, or coalition-based client portfolios with revenue or retention accountability.
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder relationships including clients, consultants, and internal teams.
- Strong financial acumen with experience analyzing performance data and presenting insights to senior executives.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and executive presence skills.
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance frameworks and pharmacy benefit regulations.
Responsibilities
- Own client retention and renewal strategy, including negotiation, risk mitigation, and execution of annual client plans.
- Manage and strengthen relationships with benefits consultants, brokers, and key employer stakeholders.
- Oversee financial performance of the client portfolio, ensuring profitability, contract compliance, and revenue growth opportunities.
- Identify upsell, cross-sell, and expansion opportunities aligned with client needs and market trends.
- Lead client strategy development, including pharmacy benefit optimization, formulary design, and cost containment initiatives.
- Supervise, coach, and develop account management team members, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
- Partner with finance, analytics, and operations teams to ensure accurate reporting, billing integrity, and performance tracking.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, contractual, and internal policy requirements across the portfolio.
