Requirements
- Proven leadership experience in renewable energy project development, commercial management, or infrastructure development within the Brazilian market.
- Strong understanding of Brazilian energy market structures, including ONS, EPE, transmission auctions, and regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated track record of taking utility-scale renewable or energy storage projects from greenfield origination through NTP/COD.
- Experience negotiating and managing agreements related to land acquisition, interconnection, permitting, PPAs, tolling agreements, and project acquisitions.
- Strong expertise in project siting, permitting, land diligence, and utility-scale infrastructure development processes.
- Hands-on experience with real estate transactions and land agreements involving renewable energy developers or IPPs.
- Solid knowledge of RFP/RFI processes and commercial structuring for renewable energy projects.
- Experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS), solar + storage, or grid-connected energy storage projects is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage complex project portfolios in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and de-risking strategies for utility-scale battery energy storage and renewable infrastructure projects.
- Manage projects throughout the entire development lifecycle, including site origination, permitting, interconnection, commercial agreements, and readiness for construction and operation.
- Act as the primary commercial lead for negotiations related to PPAs, transmission auctions, interconnection agreements, and regulatory frameworks involving ONS and EPE.
- Identify, acquire, and evaluate project sites while coordinating due diligence and land transaction activities.
- Collaborate with market and origination teams to identify new opportunities and support RFP/RFI submissions for renewable energy initiatives.
- Ensure projects meet financial, operational, and strategic objectives throughout development and execution phases.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local partners, regulatory stakeholders, landowners, and energy market participants.
- Support portfolio growth strategies by evaluating project viability, market opportunities, and infrastructure expansion initiatives.
- Oversee project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery timelines and commercial outcomes.
- Contribute to the long-term commercial and operational strategy for energy storage initiatives in Brazil.
