Requirements
- Advanced degree in a quantitatively oriented field (epidemiology, public health, economics, etc.).
- Substantial professional experience in global health or an adjacent field.
- Experience in program design, monitoring, or evaluation.
- Experience with cost-effectiveness modeling of health interventions.
- Experience in program implementation or funding at a bilateral, multilateral, or NGO.
- Ability to quickly get up to speed on new topics.
- Comfortable task-switching.
- Ability to complete skills-based assessments.
Responsibilities
- Tackle thorny research questions in existing portfolios.
- Design and oversee learning grants and impact evaluations.
- Build evidence base in new programmatic areas by synthesizing research and funding data collection.
- Provide research support to grantmakers by stress-testing models.
- Shape major annual grantmaking portfolios.
- Own grant investigations end-to-end.
- Represent GiveWell to external counterparts.
- Mentor and advise other researchers on the team.
