Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
- Professional certification (CFM, CMA, or CPA) or advanced degree
- At least 5 years in accounting, preferably in financial services or fintech
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, FDIC/OCC standards
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Very good organization skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical research and reports
- Highly proficient with MS Excel and Word
- High degree of accountability and independence
Responsibilities
- Help lead the month end close process, including journal entry preparation related to transactions
- Prepare month end account reconciliations including documentation and workpaper support
- Responsible for Daily Cash and Suspense Reconciliations
- Assist with developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures
- Maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of financial statements, footnotes and disclosures
- Collaborate across departments to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions
- Identify opportunities to streamline the accounting process and drive process improvements
- Support External and Internal audit requests
- Conduct variance analysis
- Participate in special projects and new product implementations
