Requirements

  • Customer service or call center experience.
  • Healthcare billing, insurance, or claims experience preferred.
  • Payment processing or financial transaction experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Technical proficiency with EMR systems and computer applications.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of healthcare billing and insurance concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Process patient payments via phone in accordance with policies.
  • Create and maintain payment plans.
  • Verify, audit, and update insurance information.
  • Explain claim notes, balances, and billing outcomes to patients.
  • Educate patients on billing concepts like deductibles and claim denials.
  • Research account history to resolve billing concerns.
  • Navigate multiple EMR systems simultaneously.
  • Maintain HIPAA confidentiality standards.
