Experience
Minimum of five years of professional experience related to higher education behavioral intervention, student support services, threat assessment, student conduct, counseling, risk management, campus safety, or related areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, psychology, social work, public administration, law, criminal justice, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years of professional experience in behavioral intervention, student support services, or threat assessment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with behavioral intervention teams or similar higher education risk assessment models.
  • Knowledge of higher education best practices for student behavioral intervention, threat assessment, and crisis response.
  • Experience developing or advising on institutional protocols, workflows, and policies.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality, privacy, and compliance, including FERPA.
  • Experience supporting online-serving colleges or universities.
  • Experience conducting training or professional development for faculty and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Review and provide recommendations regarding the proposed Student Concern Response Team framework, policies, and operational procedures.
  • Advise on best practices for behavioral intervention, threat assessment, and student concern response within higher education.
  • Refine SCRT scope, reporting thresholds, triage protocols, escalation pathways, and response coordination.
  • Recommend practices for case documentation, record retention, confidentiality, and information-sharing consistent with FERPA.
  • Support development of reporting guidance and communication materials for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Facilitate planning discussions and implementation meetings with SCRT members.
  • Consult on coordination with student conduct, academic support, and emergency response functions.
  • Identify appropriate training topics, workflows, and resource referral processes.
  • Deliver written recommendations and implementation guidance.
