Requirements
- Experience with dental or medical insurance billing preferred
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and medical terminology is a plus
- Strong phone and communication skills
- Highly organized with attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with insurance portals such as Availity, UHC, Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, and Humana preferred
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Responsibilities
- Complete detailed medical insurance verifications of benefits (VOBs)
- Submit and follow up on medical preauthorization
- Track and follow up on outstanding medical claims
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and documentation requirements
- Review insurance policies and benefit limitations
- Maintain accurate documentation and spreadsheets
- Work closely with dental offices and billing specialists
- Assist with appeals and requests for additional documentation
