Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- 2+ years of engineering management or people leadership experience
- Experience leading teams in infrastructure, platform engineering, or developer productivity
- Strong technical background in backend or infrastructure systems
- Ability to guide architecture and execution
- Experience building and operating cloud-native systems (AWS, Kubernetes)
- Hands-on familiarity with infrastructure-as-code practices
- Proficiency with containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems (Buildkite, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
- Track record of operating services with a high reliability bar
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the vision for Developer Environments and inner-loop developer productivity.
- Set technical strategy on a year-long time scale.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering ownership and technical excellence.
- Partner with engineering leadership to align priorities with product and reliability goals.
- Design and manage scalable, reliable ephemeral developer environments.
- Drive improvements to developer journey metrics like startup time and success rates.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and incident response for developer tools.
- Collaborate with CI/CD and Test Platform partners to tighten feedback loops.
