Requirements
- Professional software development experience in Java or Kotlin.
- 5+ years of experience in technical product management or a comparable role.
- Hands-on experience building prototypes and working with technical products.
- Experience with AI coding tools and agents.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to define clear roadmaps, success criteria, and explicit trade-offs.
- Experience developing IntelliJ plugins or working with the IntelliJ Platform SDK (preferred).
- Experience building or contributing to evaluation pipelines or benchmarks (preferred).
- History of technical speaking or content creation for developer audiences (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Own the product vision for the Kotlin plugin for fast, correct, and trustworthy IDE support.
- Use IntelliJ IDEA daily to dogfood features and validate the developer experience.
- Maintain and develop reference Kotlin projects for testing and demos.
- Build prototypes and proofs-of-concept using AI coding agents.
- Own and adapt the plugin roadmap across short-term and long-term goals.
- Align planning with Kotlin compiler, IntelliJ IDEA, and Android Studio release trains.
- Define scope and success criteria for features in collaboration with engineers.
- Run monthly user interviews to ground product decisions.
- Represent core Kotlin personas and prioritize recurring pain points.
- Create external visibility through talks, blog posts, and event previews.
