Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
  • Five years of experience in research administration, sponsored programs or grants accounting.
  • At least three years of people management experience.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and grants management platforms.
  • Familiarity with federal regulations (Uniform Guidance, NIH Grants Policy).
  • Advanced ability to use technology tools (Microsoft Excel, Power BI).
  • Ability to clearly communicate financial information.
  • Ability to interpret and apply sponsor regulations and award terms.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure grants master data is maintained to support accurate reporting, decision making, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on the reporting of grants data and the functionality of the grants module in the financial accounting system.
  • Liaise between SPF, department research administrators, and central processing areas to ensure controls and timely processing.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of accounts for sponsored revenues, expenses, liabilities, and receivables.
  • Write, maintain, and communicate policies and procedures related to post-award accounting.
  • Develop, generate, and manage timely accounting and financial reports and analyses.
  • Ensure transactions and reports are conducted in accordance with accounting standards and BCM policies.
  • Supervise research accounting staff.
