- Minimum 5 years of property claims adjusting experience
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of property claims adjusting experience, with a strong emphasis on field adjusting for residential property claims (home, landlord, condo, tenant)
- Experience managing total loss fire and other complex claims
- Experience working with large national contractors
- Litigative experience considered an asset
- Ability to coach and mentor more junior adjusters
- A strong fundamental understanding of building construction
- Experience with Xactimate estimates
Responsibilities
- Investigate, evaluate, analyze, negotiate, and settle residential property claims through on-site inspections in accordance with Max Insurance’s claims procedures and guidelines
- Conduct thorough field inspections of damaged properties to assess cause, scope, and extent of loss
- Review all relevant policy wordings and acts to determine coverage, damages, and liability
- Maintain ongoing communication and status updates to customers until file closure
- Determine appropriate settlement amount based on independent judgment, Xactimate estimates, contractor estimates, and application of applicable limits and deductibles
- Establish accurate claim and expense reserves and update promptly as new information is received
