Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of full-cycle desk adjusting experience handling residential property claims (home, condo, tenant, landlord).
- Strong experience managing complex and large-loss claims, including fire and total loss situations.
- Proficiency with Xactimate and other industry-standard estimating tools.
- Solid understanding of residential construction principles and property damage assessment.
- Experience working with contractors, legal counsel, and third-party adjusters in claims resolution.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver clear, empathetic customer interactions.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple files in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills with sound independent judgment.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to helping policyholders recover quickly and fairly.
Responsibilities
- Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle residential property claims in accordance with internal guidelines and policy terms.
- Determine coverage, liability, and damages by reviewing policy wordings, applicable regulations, and claim documentation.
- Manage end-to-end claims files, ensuring accurate reserves, timely updates, and appropriate settlement decisions.
- Communicate consistently with customers, providing clear updates and empathetic support throughout the claims process.
- Prepare and validate estimates using tools such as Xactimate and contractor reports to determine fair settlement values.
- Handle complex claims including total loss fire events and other high-severity residential property losses.
- Collaborate with external contractors, legal counsel, and third-party adjusters when required to resolve claims effectively.
- Ensure compliance with claims procedures while maintaining efficiency and strong customer experience standards.
