Requirements
- 1-3 years of desk adjusting experience handling personal property claims (home, landlord, condo, tenant)
- Experience handling water damage claims
- Ability to handle a variety of low to medium complexity claims
- Experience working with large national contractors
- General understanding of basic building construction
- Experience with Xactimate estimates
Responsibilities
- Investigate, evaluate, analyze, negotiate, and settle residential property claims
- Review policy wordings and acts to determine coverage, damages, and liability
- Maintain ongoing communication and status updates to customers
- Determine appropriate settlement amount based on independent judgment, Xactimate estimates, contractor estimates, and applicable limits/deductibles
- Establish and promptly update claim and expense reserves
