Requirements
- Worked in a Solutions Architect / Sales Engineer / pre-sales role for a technical or developer-focused product
- Real, hands-on experience with relational databases at scale (PostgreSQL is a big plus)
- Comfortable talking through data models, query plans, performance tuning, and system design with engineers
- Understand cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Understand modern data stacks (ETL pipelines, storage, compute)
- Can switch gears between a deep technical conversation and a higher-level business discussion
- Like figuring things out - you don’t need everything to be documented to get started
- Are already using (or at least experimenting with) AI tools to work faster and smarter
Responsibilities
- Own the technical side of deals, moving customers from “this looks interesting” to “we’re confident this will work.”
- Work directly with customers to design scalable systems using PostgreSQL and TigerData.
- Go deep on real problems: schema design, query optimization, performance issues, and architectural tradeoffs.
- Act as a trusted technical partner from the first conversation through early adoption.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Support, and Customer Success, bringing real customer feedback back into the product.
- Build things that scale your impact: demos, reference architectures, benchmarks, and technical content.
- Use AI tools where they actually help – whether that’s analyzing queries faster, exploring architectures, or speeding up how you build and share solutions.
- Stay curious and continuously learn (Postgres ecosystem, cloud infra, emerging data patterns, etc.).
