Experience: 5+ years

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of accounting experience (Controller or Senior Accountant level preferred)
Strong experience with accrual-based accounting
Strong experience with P&L and balance sheets
Experience managing multiple entities simultaneously
Payroll experience (preferably with Gusto or similar platform)
Experience with multi-state tax compliance
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Prior experience in healthcare (dialysis, home health, or medical services strongly preferred)
Experience in high-growth or multi-entity organizations
CPA or CPA-track candidate (preferred)

Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle accounting for six related entities
Maintain accurate general ledgers using accrual-based accounting
Prepare and analyze monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and Balance Sheets
Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
Ensure consistency across entities with shared vendors and cost structures
Oversee all bill pay processes across entities
Maintain vendor relationships and ensure timely payments
Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities
Provide weekly AR reporting to CEO
Track collections and aging reports
Work closely with operations to improve revenue cycle efficiency
Process payroll for ~10 full-time employees using Gusto
Manage payments for ~10 independent contractors
Ensure payroll tax compliance across multiple states
Ensure compliance with multi-state tax regulations
Coordinate with external CPAs for tax filings and audits
Maintain proper documentation and internal controls
Provide weekly AP and AR updates to CEO
Assist in developing financial dashboards and KPIs
Support strategic decision-making with financial insights
Help build scalable accounting processes as the company grows
