Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English or Communications or similar
  • 8-10 years of experience in a scientific content editor role
  • Experience in a medical communications agency or similar environment
  • Experienced working with MS Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Organize editorial project teams to deliver research and competitive intelligence initiatives
  • Demonstrate considerable judgment in compiling facts and making decisions
  • Complete data and fact checking based on annotated source materials
  • Synthesize and summarize published and presented scientific material for appropriate medical affairs, commercial, and patient audiences
  • Conduct literature, KOL, and other strategic searches based on supplied search criteria
  • Provide thorough review of various medical communication initiatives across multiple therapeutic areas
  • Copy edit and review scientific content for grammar, punctuation, style, consistency, and overall flow and clarity in accordance with relevant style (e.g., AMA, journal/congress, client)
  • Maintain current knowledge of AMA and client style guidelines
  • Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and processes
  • Collaborate with Lockwood teams to address and resolve their evolving needs
