Requirements
- Experience working as a Technical Artist in game development with Unreal Engine.
- Scripting skills in C++ for Unreal Engine or advanced Unreal Blueprint code, used for tool development or automation.
- Familiarity with game asset pipelines, including modeling, texturing, materials, and level integration.
- Ability to balance artistic needs with technical constraints, helping ensure assets are both visually appealing and performant.
- Collaborative problem solver, comfortable communicating across disciplines.
- Curious, proactive, and motivated to learn from other tech artists and engineers to expand technical and creative range.
- Takes initiative - seeing something that could be improved, and building the tool or workflow to make it better.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain pipeline tools for environment artists and technical artists, streamlining asset creation, integration, and validation.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, environment artists, and design teams to recognize needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Contribute to art workflows and process improvements, ensuring consistency, scalability, and ease of use across the team.
- Assist with performance profiling and optimization, including materials, shaders, and scene organization within Unreal Engine.
- Support content integration, helping artists debug and resolve technical issues in daily production.
- Document tools and workflows, ensuring new features are well-understood and accessible to the broader team.
- Prototype new ideas that enhance efficiency, creative flexibility, or visual quality.
- Participate in technical reviews and planning, providing feedback and insight into process bottlenecks and potential improvements.
