Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience in data governance, metadata management, or related roles
- Hands-on experience with Atlan and other data catalog/metadata tools (e.g., Alation, Collibra, Purview)
- Exposure to data quality tools and processes (Informatica, Talend, Ataccama, or equivalent)
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to define and obtain alignment for definition, business rules and data quality controls
- Familiarity with governance operating models and stewardship practices
- Knowledge of privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA)
- Willingness to travel as required by clients
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
Responsibilities
- Facilitate data governance working groups
- Execute metadata management activities
- Partner with business teams to draft rules and controls
- Apply data quality processes
- Support installation and configuration of governance/metadata tools
- Coach client staff on data stewardship
- Communicate governance concepts
- Provide input on access controls, privacy, and compliance
- Collaborate with teams to embed governance into workflows
- Install and configure metadata/catalog tools
- Build and curate catalogs
- Define user personas and design role-appropriate experiences
- Tailor tool UX
- Configure governance workflows
- Leverage AI-assisted features in tools
