Requirements:
Pathway A: Current, valid Peer Support Specialist certification in California or Nationally; GED/High School diploma; Competency/experience in peer support, strengths-based engagement, emotional/behavioral support; Preferred: crisis support experience. Pathway B: Education or relevant experience supporting behavioral health/wellness coaching competencies; Ability to deliver structured and single-session coaching; Experience in youth mental health, care coordination, or digital behavioral health environments preferred. Pathway C: Current, valid SUD Counselor certification in California; GED/High School diploma; Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with substance use–related behavioral change; Preferred: crisis support experience. Permanently reside within the 48 contiguous United States.
Responsibilities:
Provide on-platform virtual behavioral health care to adolescents and young adults Deliver prevention, wellness promotion and psychoeducation through structured coaching sessions Assist with warm handoffs to Care Coordinators & support case management Offer Behavioral Health/ Wellness Coaching interventions Develop individualized care plans to effectively goal set and action plan for positive behavioral change Conduct risk assessment and mitigation Address determinants of positive mental health Support users in identifying problem areas, obstacles, and actionable steps towards wellness goals Deliver drop-in and single-chat wellness coaching Facilitate goal-setting based on immediate individual needs Deliver brief prevention, wellness promotion, and psychoeducation Conduct mental health & wellness screenings and progress monitoring Identify users experiencing or at risk of social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties Support users experiencing crisis and facilitate referrals as needed Moderate journals, goals, and user-submitted content Encourage safe engagement relevant to presenting issues Adhere to all safeguarding, data protection, legal, and internal policy requirements Communicate with users and external providers as appropriate to ensure seamless care transitions Attend and actively participate in clinical supervision Complete all mandatory in-house training and professional development Attend team and performance management meetings Maintain accurate and timely records according to Kooth policies Support operational processes to ensure consistent service delivery Liaise with other professionals as needed around safeguarding and care concerns Maintain certification or licensure (as applicable)
