Senior Program Officer (Northern & Western Europe)

Solid knowledge of trust-based philanthropy or community-based grantmaking. Experience in participatory decision-making structures. Experience in grantmaking, particularly in an international context. Experience in nonprofit capacity building. Strong strategic and analytical skills. Excellent organizational skills and judgment. Proven ability to create constructive partnerships with the Wikimedia community and stakeholders. Open and transparent communication style. Experience managing high complexity projects and stakeholders. Willingness to accommodate scheduling requirements across time zones. Proven English proficiency in written and spoken communication. Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and diversity. A global perspective, with significant experience living or working internationally.

Implement the Community Resources grantmaking strategy for Northern & Western Europe. Manage and monitor the regional grant portfolio. Lead annual grant planning and organizational assessments. Build, onboard, and develop regional funding committees. Facilitate committee discussions and provide funding recommendations. Build and sustain trust-based relationships with communities and grantees. Support institutional strengthening of grantee partners. Review grantee progress and approve grant reports. Identify trends and opportunities from grantmaking data. Share learnings with colleagues and partners.
