Senior Engineering Design Manager - Remote (United States)

15+ years of design experience in data centers or mission-critical environments across CSA, MEP, ICT, and Security disciplines. 5+ years as an owner’s representative, design manager, or consulting lead managing multidisciplinary design teams. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline. Extensive experience with hyperscale data center programs. Strong understanding of applicable codes and standards, including: ASHRAE, NFPA, Uptime Institute, NEC, NFPA 70/70E, IEEE standards, IBC and local jurisdictional requirements. Proven ability to manage external design firms, control budgets, and hold partners accountable. Demonstrated experience with BIM coordination, clash detection, and model review processes. Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent professional certification.

Act as owner's trusted design authority for multidisciplinary designs. Serve as primary liaison between owner and external design team. Review and approve consultant design packages across CSA, MEP, ICT, and Security disciplines. Provide technical leadership and strategic oversight across all data center design disciplines. Oversee civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, ICT, and security system designs. Drive the design review and governance process. Coordinate interdisciplinary design integration. Manage design budgets, forecasts, and cost controls. Manage specifications, technical standards, and consultant submittments. Lead value engineering initiatives. Oversee BIM coordination, clash detection, and model reviews. Provide design-intent interpretation during construction. Manage and review RFIs, submittals, and field issues. Evaluate design-related change order requests. Participate in commissioning planning and witness system testing. Align design solutions with functional, operational, and business objectives. Communicate design decisions, risks, and recommendations clearly.
