Senior Database Developer (SQL) (Remote from Massachusetts)

Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years of experience, Master’s with 12+ years, or PhD with 9+ years. Minimum of 5–7 years in SQL development and database management. Proven experience working with complex database systems and data warehousing solutions. Strong expertise in SQL programming, query optimization, performance tuning, indexing, and troubleshooting. Deep knowledge of major DBMS platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL). Experience with data modeling, database architecture, ETL tools, and data warehousing concepts. Understanding of backup, recovery, database security, user roles, and permissions. Familiarity with cloud database platforms (AWS RDS or Azure SQL Database). Ability to automate tasks using scripting languages (Python or PowerShell). US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Define and implement database standards, requirements, and quality assurance protocols. Translate business requirements into logical data models. Build and maintain physical database models. Recommend improvements for operating efficiency, data governance, recovery, and storage utilization. Participate in quality assurance activities and develop test application code. Support ongoing database maintenance, capacity planning, and vendor software updates.
