Staff Engineer Cloud Scalability

Minimal 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, SRE, or cloud infrastructure roles. Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar, or commensurate experience. Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation). Deep familiarity with AWS native services: ECS, EC2, EKS, S3, CloudFront, CloudWatch, KMS, RDS and LZA configuration. Experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and service mesh technologies. Strong scripting/automation experience (Python, Bash, Go, or similar). Experience in designing or using profiling tools and performance test frameworks. Solid understanding of distributed systems, caching, event-driven architecture, and performance tuning. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling. Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities in large-scale distributed environments. Experience in high-traffic, globally distributed environments. Experience with zero-downtime migrations and multi-region deployments.

Lead capacity planning, autoscaling, and performance optimization. Define and enforce best practices for scalability, reliability, and observability. Conduct architectural reviews for performance and cost efficiency. Partner with engineering teams on microservice infrastructure implementation. Implement and improve metrics systems for performance bottleneck diagnosis. Partner with engineering teams to enforce SLOs/SLAs. Lead incident response for high-severity cloud infrastructure issues. Provide solutions for production teams to measure and predict cloud costs.
