Excellent written and spoken English skills. Top-notch news writing and time management. Strong news sense and judgment, with experience or an interest in financial news and markets. Curious and proactive approach to learning the role. Ability to manage and prioritize numerous projects simultaneously while working to tight deadlines. Change mindset and willingness to adapt as content objectives evolve. Ability to work flexible hours that align with European business hours, with shifts starting between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. PKT and ending between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. PKT. Required to cover shift work during the week, occasionally working earlier mornings or additional hours.
Responsibilities:
Write breaking news stories based on company announcements and third-party content, focusing on EMEA & US regions. Aggregate third-party content and contribute to Octus’s databases. Support a team of experienced journalists, financial analysts, and lawyers. Adopt Octus’s editorial standards, workflows, and processes. Write earnings and other intel using proprietary & supporting AI tools. Provide crossover support between all regions for 24/7 coverage. Monitor domestic press releases, SEC filings, and other sources for key developments.
