Engineering Manager - Site Experience

6+ years in software engineering 1+ years in a people leadership role Experience managing 3+ direct reports Experience implementing and leading Agile processes Expert level JavaScript, CSS, HTML Expert level knowledge of software engineering best practices Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Remix, Next.js) Experience with Node, Python or Ruby Experience with Shopify Plus and its ecosystem Experience with AI tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) Experience with marketing & analytics pixels, Google Tag Manager Experience with cloud services & architectures (GCP preferred) Experience working with marketing and data teams on pixels and web events Experience optimizing team workflow and efficiency Experience influencing, building trust, and collaborating cross-functionally

Conduct regular 1:1s, goal setting, and performance reviews Support career development of direct reports Lead agile processes (standup, grooming, planning) Implement engineering support and release processes Collaborate with ecommerce, marketing, and data teams Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 and privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA) Promote documentation culture Identify and mitigate development risks Foster test-driven development and QA culture Collaborate on technical roadmap with Director of Engineering Collaborate on requirements and product roadmap with Product and Design teams Participate in code reviews and foster collaboration Leverage AI to streamline developer experience
