Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, HR, or a related field; MBA preferred. 10 to 15 years of progressive payroll management experience. At least 3 to 5 years in a leadership role. Strong working knowledge of Darwinbox. Proficient in MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and G Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets). Deep understanding of Indian payroll regulations, taxation, and statutory compliance. Deep understanding of working with the ADP platform (preferred). Fair knowledge of the procurement process, particularly in payroll vendor coordination and contract management (preferred).
Responsibilities:
Lead the full payroll cycle, including input validation, computation, review, approvals, and disbursement. Oversee payroll inputs such as new joiners, exits, bonuses, overtime, and statutory deductions. Review and approve monthly pay registers. Manage supplementary payroll cycles and exceptions. Collaborate with People Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Accounting, and vendors. Liaise with Darwinbox and payroll vendors to resolve discrepancies. Serve as the primary escalation point for payroll or compliance issues. Ensure adherence to statutory compliances (PF, ESI, PT, etc.). Validate PF/NPS challans and statutory remittances. Oversee employee income tax computation, TDS deductions, and filings. Coordinate with external vendors for annual filings and queries. Conduct employee sessions on payroll topics. Stay updated on local employment and taxation laws. Monitor payroll SLAs, accuracy metrics, and audit trails. Review payroll SOPs for automation and optimization opportunities. Maintain payroll documentation. Lead and mentor the payroll team. Promote collaboration and continuous learning.
