Lead AI Engineer

5+ years of production engineering experience, building and maintaining backend services in Python (FastAPI or similar async frameworks). Experience deploying services to cloud providers (GCP/AWS) or modern platforms (Railway, Render, Vercel). Experience building complex applications using Foundation Models / LLMs, understanding context window management, prompting strategies, and model chaining. Background in training and evaluating models using TensorFlow/PyTorch/Keras/Scikit-learn. Proficiency in building datasets and evaluating them using cross-validation, precision/recall, and business metrics. Strong communication skills for explaining complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.

Architect and engineer AI systems using LLMs, RAG pipelines, and context engineering. Build backend services and APIs using Python (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy). Lead the transition to data-driven optimization by instrumenting data collection, designing online evaluation metrics, and deploying ML models. Contribute to frontend development (React/TS) as needed. Mentor full-stack engineers on AI concepts and best practices. Advise Product and Leadership on AI capabilities and roadmap development.
