IBM i Systems Engineer

Deep expertise with IBM Power hardware infrastructure and IBM i OS (V5R4 – V7R6). Experience with LPAR/HMC configuration. Experience with SAN/storage integration & PowerHA. Experience with Mimix, QuickEDD, or similar replication tools. Experience with VTLs, backups, and disaster recovery. Proficiency in performance analysis, capacity planning, CL programming, and IBM i automation. Strong project documentation and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments. Experience with logical replication & backup/restore tools. Experience with IBM i patching, upgrades, PTF management. Knowledge of IBM i security best practices. Experience with SQL, scripting, and systems integration.

Lead end-to-end implementation of customer projects on IBM i Power platforms. Perform physical onsite hardware installations of IBM Power Servers. Execute system migrations using various methods. Collaborate with subject matter experts and project managers to translate requirements. Ensure project documentation is accurate and handed off seamlessly into production. Provide subject matter expert level advice to Technical Pre-Sales. Participate in a rotating on-call schedule. Provide efficient and effective support to internal and external customers.
