Financial Counselor (Fertility)

A Bachelor’s degree 2 + years of experience in fertility or healthcare Proficient knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices Proficiency in MS Office required Experience with electronic medical records Exceptional communication and organizational skills Ability to simplify complex concepts to patients Flexible availability which may include working some weekends and holidays

Furnish patients and healthcare providers with estimates related to upcoming treatment Collect estimated liabilities from patients and apply payments to patient accounts Acquire knowledge of patient’s insurance coverage and benefit limits and communicate it to the patients Communicate to internal staff the financial status of the patient Initiate prior authorization requests per insurance carrier requirements Ensure reimbursement is obtained for medical services provided for non-insured and under-insurance patients Identify and work to minimize potential financial risk of patient accounts Act as a resource representative when questions arise regarding registration errors, proper insurance documentation and accounting correction
